Executive Biography

Guy is an entrepreneurial and innovative Management Consultant and trusted advisor to CxO leaders, with over 25 years’ experience in strategic marketing, global communications, insight development and applied behavioural science. Guy has held diverse leadership roles within global multinational corporations and technology start-ups. His specialist, award-winning focus on sustainability, corporate social innovation and behavioural science has been recognised to transform businesses and markets, and drive commercial success.

With extensive experience in energy and behaviour, Guy recently established Greener Hours, a start-up concept to drive consumer awareness of daily carbon intensity and clean energy. With Meltwater Consulting, Guy provides consulting and advisory services across behavioural science, sustainability and strategic marketing and communications. His international client portfolio includes Roche, Astra Zeneca, ING, EDF, IKEA, IPSOS, GK Holdings Korea, L’Oréal, Elisa Oyj Telecoms and Smart Energy GB, as well as national and regional governments.

Guy joined Enervee as strategic advisor in 2010. His leadership of strategic marketing, global communications and behavioural science has taken the company from concept, through series A funding to a $MM market-leading energy efficiency advisory business. He championed change in US energy regulator policy and pitched and secured US and European utility company clients via evidence-based research. He embedded consumer decision-making at the heart of the product and proposition, and delivered a stakeholder communication strategy which has led to engagement across 88.5M end-users and influenced over 30M purchases to date, with the award-winning product now recognised as the best in market.

Between 2009 and 2012, Guy was advisor, principal strategist and communications officer to the CEO of Havas, having previously held senior leadership posts as Global MD for Havas Entertainment, and Global Director for Strategic Marketing at Havas Media. He shaped strategy across the group, created a new global business unity and led the largest consumer sentiment, brand and sustainability research study (Meaningful Brands). Encompassing 30,000 people in 12 countries, Meaningful Brands led to a new positioning for the group as a whole, and one of the first multi-market agency consulting propositions. Meaningful Brands established Havas as a credible brand leader in CSR and sustainability, culminating in $MM awards from Hyundai, Danone, IKEA and Air France.

Guy’s earlier career was in television, as an executive producer, creating and producing high-profile programmes for BBC, ITV and Channel 4, which resulted in two Royal Television Society Awards for educational programming.

Guy is an internationally recognised Thought Leader in Behavioural Science and sustainability, has co-authored a book on Brand Strategy and sustainability, and has delivered over 50 papers at global conferences. He has been published in Harvard Business Review, and he has contributed to programmes with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

An award-winning professor at IE Business School and University in Madrid (ranked global top 10), he teaches applied behavioural science and innovation to Master’s students. He also designed and delivered the strategic marketing MBA module as associate professor at Henley Business School.
